Brief Project Overview

An exploration of how Spotify users engage more intimately with their favorite artists in a meaningful way. Specifically looking at the charming and dazzling Dolly Parton, her influence and rise to popularity in the late 1960s to 1970s. Parton was given the chance to break into the male dominated country music industry in 1967 and throughout her career has challenged many ideas within the music industry.

Inspiration for this project comes from the magic of Parton’s amusement park, DollyWood, in Gatlinburg, TN which has been said to have a euphoric feeling for avid fans. Within her park, there is a replica of her childhood home and a museum showcasing major events of Parton’s career. In making this walk down memory lane into a digital experience, I hope to make learning about Parton’s past an engaging and accessible experience for avid fans.
